History
The first version of ChipzIRC was created in August 2005, I needed an IRC client that could handle to multiple servers with different nicknames and usernames, with plugin/scripting support and a nice GUI. No other free (or non-free) IRC client felt right, so ChipzIRC was born.

The future (ChipzIRC 2.0)
ChipzIRC will be totally rewritten when ChipzIRC 1.0 has been released. The language has not been decided yet but it will probably be C# or maybe C++/WTL. The look and feel will be the same as in 1.0 but it will be easier to customize with scripts and plugins. There will also be a couple of really interesting features that no other IRC client has today.
